Inquiries and hearings

The Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania investigates and conducts inquiries and hearings into complaints and other matters related to the good character, competence, and fitness to teach of registered teachers in Tasmania. When necessary, the Board establishes Committees of Inquiry (pursuant to section 21 of the Teachers Registration Act 2000) to conduct inquiries and hearings.
The role of a Committee of Inquiry is to consider the evidence and determine the facts of matters arising from complaints and notifications from employers to the Board about registered teachers. A Committee of Inquiry consists of Board members and practicing teachers.
